Readership
Our readers are an important part of our story and with each publication we strive to consistently meet the information needs of our scientific and professional communities.
Worldwide Reach
With the Open Access model, online publications have the benefit of reaching a worldwide readership. Our readers come from all over the world with the vast majority of them coming from Asia, European countries and the USA.

Target Readership
Our target readership includes all the most important players in the academic communities: scientists, university and college professors, research professionals, students and users of academic libraries. Moreover, our publications are of great interest to engineering societies, technical organizations, industrial institutions and government departments.
Demographics
Our readership is primarily male, but our numbers indicate that our female readership is growing. Our highest reach is among young adults - the average age of our audience is between 22 and 34 years. 89% of our readers hold a university degree and use our publications for scholarly purposes.

Download Metrics
Since the launch of our first journal in 2004, our readership has been steadily growing. So has the visibility of our publications: in 2010 we recorded our 2.5 millionth download and figures are showing a continued increase. By the end of 2010, more than 13,000 readers had downloaded our most frequently accessed book, and on average our readers currently download over 200,000 publications (books, journals and individual chapters) per month.
