It gives us great pleasure to see that a group of researchers from Kathmandu have had their chapter published in an InTech book right next to the contribution by an established academic from Harvard University. Work by an independent researcher on pollution in the Niger Delta has been published right next to that of a postdoctoral researcher from UCLA.
Not only is it inspiring to see that authors' reliance on the traditional publishing model has begun to decrease as they become more aware of the importance of the Open Access publishing model, it is also encouraging to see that researchers from developing countries are getting increased exposure simply because they finally have the means to access the publications they need in order to present their work to the scientific community.
